FIRST IMPRESSIONS
First Impressions, two years ago when I had the opportunity to go to Vancouver to study, have a different experience and make new friends that might last forever. To be honest I has very scared not for the fact of going to a city or even a country I haven’t been in my life, but the fact of the first impression, what was people going to think about me. That was my biggest fear. I had the challenge to make a first impression with two different groups of people, the family I was staying and spending most of the hours of each single day for an entire year. And all the students of the school I was attending to.
The first day of school, I entered into the building I got there right on time most of the students were already doing locker and walking into their corresponding classrooms. I had no idea where to go or what to, the system and methods where completely different as the one’s back home, here in Monterrey. As I walked into the classroom, I felt everyone was starring at me, I felt every eye on that class was staring at me. What are they thinking about me? I thought to my self? I tried to overcome that fear and tried to look as normal and natural as possible. To moment I had nightmares with, the teacher presented me to the class and asked me to introduce my self. I did, told my name and some thing I liked. After class ended some very nice students which ended up to be my best friends for the entire year. They came up to me and started asking questions about me, my family my background etc., I guess they just wanted to know about me. I took the opportunity and asked the same questions for the same meaning to know more about them. Overall, I guess things weren’t as bad as I was planning, my first impression turned out and lead to get to know amazing people and great friends.
